Theme choice

The light and dark theme follows your device setting by default and stores nothing. If you pick Light or Dark in the theme menu, that choice is saved in this browser’s local storage under the name emilioborges:theme, so the next page opens in the same theme. Picking Match system deletes the saved choice. The value never leaves your browser.

Comments

Each section ends with a comment area provided by giscus, which shows discussions stored on GitHub. When you scroll near the end of a section, your browser loads the comment area from giscus.app, and comment text and avatars from github.com. Those services receive your IP address and browser details, as any website you visit does.

Reading comments needs no sign-in. To write one, you sign in with GitHub through giscus, which keeps a sign-in token in this browser’s local storage under the name giscus-session until you sign out. Comments you post are public on GitHub and follow GitHub’s privacy statement.

Visitor statistics

The site counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies and uses no local storage. It records the page viewed, the referring site, browser and device type, the approximate country and page load times, and reports only totals. Details are in Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Hosting

Cloudflare delivers these pages. Like any web host, it processes your IP address and request details to serve the pages and protect the site from abuse. If Cloudflare’s bot protection needs to check a visit, it may set a short-lived security cookie that is used only for that purpose.

Children

This website is written for professionals and is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect information from children.

Fonts and other resources

All fonts are served from this site. Images or links that point to other websites contact those websites only when an image loads or when you follow the link.
